Applied Handling's project staff created and executed a design-build contract to store an unusually large variety of aircraft parts.

A new business was formed with the challenge of an anticipated uneven pace of receipt of a large number of inventory items.  The newly formed company interviewed a number of local vendors to aid with the distribution planning process and the supply of new equipment.  Applied Handling was selected on the basis of staff experience, project experience and the computer-aided services offered.  Working in close contact with client management, Applied created both a short-term solution and a long-range plan to deal with the projected growth.  A number of different storage methods were incorporated into the design, along with a mechanized receiving and inspection system.

Long-range planning provided a special dividend after only six months of operation.  The original equipment layout was reconfigured, doubling available storage positions with minor disruption to the ongoing business.

The project's success was due in large measure to the client's personal and corporate commitment to successful planning processes.
