Client Problem:

A major Northwest manufacturing firm required its outside storage areas and racks to be covered.  Employee safety and weather protection of assembly components were critical.  Of particular importance was the need to preserve and maintain the original design and color scheme of the existing building.  A design/build approach was implemented.

Applied Handling's Solution

Applied Handling was asked to explore design/build options to enclose/cover the outside storage areas and racks.  When completed, the project provided an additional 65,000 square feet of weather-protected canopy space.  The project included extensive new dock additions along with fire protection equipment, lighting, and specialty services to deal with unusual soil  conditions.

The successful completion of this project within budget and on time during the wettest three months in the past 80 years in the Pacific Northwest is a demonstration of Applied Handling's construction capabilities.
